New iPhone 5 Rumor Emerges and Another is Still Supported

This week two iPhone 5 rumors have been spreading about -- the iPhone 5 will be released in August...and the iPhone 5 will be released in September. Which is it? BGR reports that the iPhone 5 will be released in August and Bloomberg sticks with its existing rumor of September as the iPhone's release month.

Firefox 5 Final Released

Today, Firefox let the green light on the final release of Firefox 5.0. Tracking back to April when it was in Alpha stages, Firefox has released Firefox 5 to the public. The changes in Firefox 5 aren't too noticeable...if at all. The only new feature in Firefox 5 is a Do-Not-Track option, which stops advertisers from tracking your browsing history and installing cookies on your computer. Improvements to a few features like HTML 5 and CSS3 were made along with plain and simple overall performance improvements and security updates. Does this updated version of Firefox really deserve a whole new release? Either way, the release is out there, so go get it!

Tweak of the Week

Hey Tech Excess readers, Opinionative Reviewer here and I'm back again for our second installment of "Tweak of the Week". This week was a busy week in Cydia, with the release of more than 10 awesome tweaks. I had a hard time choosing the tweak of the week for this week, but after ponderous thinking. I decided that 'FlashLock' was this week's tweak of the week.

'FlashLock' is a simple but extremely useful tweak. That allows you to turn on your iPhone's flash directly from your lock screen with a dedicated flash button, and use it as a flashlight. To access FlashLock, just double tap the home button while at the lock screen and the button will appear. It is similar to the feature in iOS 5, where you double tap the home button to reveal the camera button short cut. It is brought to you by that awesome developer Filippo Biga and it was inspired by Sebastien Page. Sebastien had the idea for the tweak, he contacted Biga about it and Biga was thrilled to work on it. Last week's tweak of the week 'SlideAway', was also developed by Biga and I'm sure this wouldn't be the last time one of his tweaks is featured on "Tweak of the Week". FlashLock is FREE straight out of the ModMyi repo and I’ll give it a solid ★★★★★.

Well that's it for this week's segment of "Tweak of the Week", comment down below and tell us what's your "Tweak of the Week". With that being said, I hope you do enjoy the rest of your day/night and be sure to come back next Friday for "Tweak of the Week".

Possible iPhone 5 Feature?

Since the WWDC (World Wide Developers Conference) 2011, Apple has claimed to have 200 features in iOS 5. But one of the readers at TechnoBuffalo, happened to find a very interesting feature that doesn't quite add up.

iPhone 5 in Final Stage of Testing

This year Apple tried to make it very obvious that they were not going to release the iPhone 5 at last week's WWDC keynote ahead of time. They started off by telling everyone that the keynote would be strictly software only, but just to make sure everyone got the picture, they gave a press release saying exactly what they were going to talk about. Because Apple originally said that they would not announce the iPhone 5 at WWDC, rumors started speculating that the next iPhone would be released in September. Now that idea is looking like even more of a possibility as it looks like Apple is almost done with testing for the next device.

iOS 5 Beta 1 Jailbreak

Although the great news above shows that an iOS 5 (TETHERED) jailbreak has been released, there's a catch. This jailbreak is (suggested) for those who would like to update there cydia apps/tweaks to work with an upcoming iOS 5 UN-Tethered jailbreak.

iOS 5 Setup on iPod Touch 4G

Hey Tech Excess Readers! Today I decided to restore my iPod so I can show you all (who don't know) what iOS 5 looks like after a fresh restore. I have made a video of it but I warn you.... The camera quality is decent but in the first 20 seconds or so, it didn't want to focus at all. Anyway, Enjoy The Video!
